Intelligent Timing

CASIO deploys original LSI and high-density mounting technologies to create unique watches featuring advanced technologies that no ordinary mechanical watch can offer.

Multi Band 6, the world's first* radio-controlled technology that can receive time calibration signals from all the world's six transmission stations

Multi Band 6 is the world's first* radio-controlled system built to receive time calibration signals from six transmission stations: one each in Germany, the United Kingdom and North America and two in Japan, plus the new station in China.

New heterodyne detection IC

We adopted a heterodyne system for the detection IC and, moreover, enhanced the detection system's functionality further by developing a new detection IC with a circuit setting tuned to receive a wider range of frequencies than our Multi Band 5 models. Whereas the Multi Band 5 system can receive time calibration signals from five transmission stations, the new Multi Band 6 system can receive them from all the world's six stations, including the station in China.

Tough Solar, powering multiple functions even in low light

CASIO's unique Tough Solar power system combines a small, highly efficient solar panel with a rechargeable battery featuring a large storage capacity. The solar panel converts not only sunlight but even relatively weak illumination from fluorescent lighting into ample electric power to ensure stable operation of various energy-hungry wrist gear functions.

A CASIO original solar system

This combination of an unobtrusive solar panel for capturing solar energy with a large-capacity rechargeable battery operates not only all the wristwatch functions but also such measurement functions as various sensors, timers and stopwatches as well as a bright electro-luminescent backlight. It is also equipped with a power-saving function that permits extended use by turning off the display temporarily to save energy after the watch has been kept in a dark place with insufficient light to generate power for a certain period of time.
