Installing the Pocket PC 2002 Update Pack
|

|
|
|
| This is designed to supplement previous updates. This update fully covers the contents of Update Pack 1.10 and 2.00 released before. This update is permanently installed into the ROM of your Pocket PC 2002. |

If there is data you want to save, be sure you save it before performing installation.
In the case of PIM data, first save the data using the ActiveSync synchronization function.
Create copies of other files using ActiveSync Explorer.
Do not use the ActiveSync backup/restore functions to backup and restore the data. |

Check to make sure your Pocket PC 2002 has enough program memory.
See "Update Tips" for more information.
See the manual that comes with your Pocket PC 2002 for information about free up memory.
Note that this memory requirement is for installation only.
Memory is available for use again after installation is complete.

Shut down all currently running applications.
See the user documentation that comes with the Pocket PC 2002 for details. |

Be sure to use your Pocket PC 2002 AC adaptor to power it during the update operation. |

Use the following procedure to install this driver on your Pocket PC.

|
|
|
| 1. |
Before downloading the update file, connect your Pocket PC to your computer. |
| 2. |
On your computer, double-click "Setup.exe" and then follow the instructions that appear on your screen. |

Important!

|
|
|
| 1. |
Do not enable the device password feature during the update process. |
| 2. |
Do not turn off or reset your Pocket PC while the update operation is in progress. |
| 3. |
Any data you back up using the backup/restore function of ActiveSync
before installing the update cannot be restored to your Pocket PC 2002 after installation of the update is complete. |

Update Tips
|

|
|
|
| 1. |
The update file size is approximately 12MB.
If your Pocket PC 2002 does not have enough storage memory,
an error will occur when your try to copy the file to the Pocket PC.
If this happens, adjust memory allocation or temporarily delete some non-vital files from storage memory. |

During the update process, a dialog box appears showing that the process will take about two minutes. The update process actually takes about 10 minutes. |

This update does not delete the saved data and the softwares already installed before such as:

Checking and Allocating Memory |

| Use the following procedure to check the amount of memory currently available, and to adjust memory allocation. |
| 1. |
ITap [Start], and then [Settings]. |
| 2. |
On the dialog box that appears, tap the [System] tab. |
| 3. |
Tap the [Memory] icon.
The dialog box that appears shows how much memory is currently available. |
| 4. |
Drag the slider to adjust memory allocation. |
