High, photographic-quality digital imaging
Digital Camera with 4.13-megapixel CCD
QV-4000 QV-4000
CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. announces the new QV-4000 digital camera whose 4.13-megapixel CCD and photographic-quality images puts it at the top of the CASIO QV Series digital camera lineup.

The QV-4000's 4.13-megapixel CCD records very high-resolution 2,240 x 1680-pixel images that show every subtle skin nuance and fine detail of natural scenery. The result is a quality digital camera that records images of a resolution that is on par with film-based cameras. Manual selection of drive mode, exposure, light metering, white balance and other settings can be accomplished quickly and easily with the turn of a dial, giving the advanced photographer full control over the essential parameters that control the appearance of the image.
The QV-4000 also includes a Best Shot Mode that makes it possible to shoot perfect portraits, florals, and other types of images simply by selecting the image type. The QV-4000 also is the world's first camera to feature "digital soft focus" for even greater digital imaging versatility.
Main Features
High-resolution 4.13-megapixel primary color CCD
Canon high brightness F2.0 optical 3X zoom lens,
total zoom of 9.6X in combination with 3.2X digital zoom
The lens accepts various filters and Canon conversion lenses and macro lens currently on the market.
World's first digital soft focus
Soft focus make everything from portraits to floral shots appear more delicate and beautiful.
Real-time histogram
View exposure information before you record an image so you can make adjustments and achieve the result you want.
Best Shot Mode
Simply select the Best Shot scene that is like the one you want to record and light metering, exposure, saturation, and other settings are configured in an instant. In addition to five built-in scenes, a bundled CD-ROM contains an additional 100 scenes that you can copy to a compact flash card and transfer to the camera. You can even store up to 250 of your own Best Shot scenes on a Compact Flash card for later recall whenever you need them.
Dual dial operation
A pair of dials provides quick and easy setting of drive mode (continuous shutter, movie, etc.), and exposure mode.
Selector dial for frequently used operations
A selector dial provides instant access to frequently used parameters in each mode. Shortcut keys can also be used to make light metering, white balance, and focus settings without going through the on-screen menu.
Control panel
A control panel screen shows the current exposure value, shutter speed, focus type, light metering method, exposure compensation setting, and other information at a glance. This means the monitor screen can be turned off to save power when using the optical viewfinder to compose images.
Image playback in 35mm film aspect ratio (3:2)
AEB (Auto Exposure Bracketing), 60-second bulb exposure, Panorama Mode, Movie Mode
Aperture priority AE, shutter speed priority AE, manual exposure
Powerful focus functions
Focus assist light for better focus when lighting is dim
Multi-area AF ensures the entire area is in focus.
Focus area expansion makes it easier to check focus
Focus area shift lets you select from among nine focus areas.
Manual setup for full creative versatility
In addition to selection of one of three light metering methods (multi-pattern, center weighted, spot), you can also manually set white balance, flash intensity, focus, exposure compensation, image quality, and more.
Image orientation detection
The camera automatically detects if you record an image using landscape or portrait orientation. When you display an image on your computer screen, it is displayed automatically in the same orientation you used when you recorded it.
Mode Memory stores power saving and other settings when power is turned off.
External flash terminal
Outstanding battery life
Low-power operation makes it possible for a 3V lithium battery pack (CR-V3P) to provide enough power to record approximately 1,230 images or six hours of continuous playback.
TIFF image storage mode
One-touch resizing converts a recorded image to VGA size.
1.8-inch high-definition hyper amorphous silicon TFT LCD (HAST)
DCF (Design Rule for Camera File System) and DPOF (Digital Print Order Format) compliant
Supports IBM Microdrive (including 1GB Microdrive)
Bundled with PC link software and USB cable
The QV-4000 is equipped with a special USB port. The bundled Photo Loader software and USB cable make it possible to transfer images from the camera to your computer automatically, whenever the Photo Loader is started up. Transferred images can be viewed using a Web browser. Other handy image handling features include an auto mail attachment tool and print functions.
Auto mail attachment tool
Selecting an image automatically starts up your mail software and attaches the image to a new outgoing message. Attached images are automatically resized to a size specified by you.
Print functions
Selecting an image automatically starts up Photo Hands printing software. Also included are retouching tools for adjusting color, contrast, brightness, and more.
HTML format image catalog generator
PRINT Image Matching compatible
Optimum printing results can be achieved using a printer that supports EPSON PRINT Image Matching. Images recorded using Best Shot Mode blue sky, floral, portrait, and other scenes can be reproduced almost perfectly.
