Why can't I establish a USB connection? |

If USB cannot be activated after upgrading from Windows 98 to Windows Me |
 |

A USB driver installed on a Windows 98 computer may stop operating if you upgrade the computer to Windows Me. This may be due to a partial deletion of the USB information from the Windows Registry. Use the following procedure to edit your Registry so it includes the required USB information.

Use the USB cable to connect the camera to your computer. |

| 2) |
Turn on the camera. Open "My Computer" and check to make sure there is no icon indicating a USB connection. |

| 3) |
On the "Start" menu, select "Settings," "Control Panel" (Figure 1), "System" (Figure 2), and then "Device Manager" (Figure 3). |

Select "View devices by type". |

In the list of devices, select "USB-CASIO DIGITAL CAMERA" under "Universal Serial Bus controllers" (Figure 4), and then click [Remove]. |

In response to the "Confirm Device Removed" dialog box that appears (Figure 5), double-check to make sure that the correct device driver name is selected, and then click [OK].

After driver deletion is complete, turn off the camera.

With some camera models, the power switch may be disabled. In this case, disconnect the USB cable. |

Turn the camera back on, or reconnect the USB cable.

This will automatically install the USB driver and register the required USB information in the Registry. |

Open "My Computer" and check to make sure that a "Removable Disk" icon (Figure 6) is present.
