Why can't I establish a USB connection? |

If USB cannot be recognized because "Save power" is selected for "Power Management" by the OHCI type host
controller |

When using the OHCI USB controller, the OHCI controller may not be recognized when the USB cable is connected because "Save power" is selected. If this happens, first use the procedure below to check if the USB controller is an OHCI controller.

Before changing any settings on your computer, be sure to back up or make a record of its current settings so you
can return to them, if necessary. Incorrectly configuring computer settings can result in failure of your computer to

On the "Start Menu," select "Control Panel" (Figure 1), "Performance and Maintenance," "System,"
"Hardware," and then "Device Manager" (Figure 2).

Open "Universal Serial Bus controllers" and then check what is indicated for "Host controller" (Figure 3). Click on
the item below that matches what you see.

This is the OHCI USB controller. Proceed with the following steps.

Select "Device Manager," Universal Serial Bus controllers," and then "USB Root Hub" (Figure 4).

Right-click your mouse, and then select "Properties" on the shortcut menu that appears. |

Display the "Power Management" tab, clear the check box next to "Allow the computer to turn off this device to
