 Image Roulette Feature
The Image Roulette features cycles like a slot machine display through images you record or image you download from Exilim Avenue on your EXILIM digital camera's monitor screen, and then displays a single image. When you start an Image Roulette operation, images scroll randomly on the screen. At first, images scroll at high speed. Then the scrolling gradually slows down until a single image is stopped on the screen. The image that finally appears is random, and subject to no rules or system.
Important!
- Image Roulette does not play audio or movie files.
- Image Roulette is disabled when there is only one snapshot image available.
- Use Image Roulette with images recorded with the EXILIM digital camera or images downloaded from Exilim Avenue. The Image Roulette feature may not operate properly when other types of images are used.
- If you do not start another Image Roulette operation for about one minute after the final image appears, the camera enters its normal PLAY mode.
- Note that once firmware is updated, the Image Roulette feature cannot be deleted (firmware cannot be returned to its original version).
To turn on Image Roulette
1. Align the mode selector with "PLAY".
2. While rocking the controller to the left, press the power button to turn on power. Keep the controller held to the left until images appear on the monitor screen.
* This starts the first Image Roulette operation.
3. Images scroll on the display and finally stop at an image.
4. You can perform another Image Roulette operation by rocking the controller to the left or right.
To turn off Image Roulette
- Use the mode selector to select "REC", or press the power button to turn off the camera.
 Power Down Image Feature
With the Power Down Image feature, you can configure the camera so a specific image stored in camera image memory appears whenever you turn off power. Only a snapshot or movie recorded with the EXILIM camera or downloaded from Exilim Avenue can be used as the power down image.
Important!
- Only snapshot (JPEG) and movie (AVI) files can be used as the power down image.
- With the EX-M1 and EX-M2, you can also include audio with a movie used as the power down image.
- Use Power Down Image with images recorded with the EXILIM digital camera or images downloaded from Exilim Avenue. The Power Down Image feature may not operate properly when other types of images are used.
- Formatting the camera's Flash Memory deletes the power down image.
- When both a still image and a movie are present for the power down image, only the movie is used.
- Note that a power down image display operation cannot be interrupted once it starts. Because of this, you should select a relatively short movie when using a movie file as the power down image.
- Note that once firmware is updated, the Power Down Image feature cannot be deleted (firmware cannot be returned to its original version).
To configure power down image settings
1. If your camera has a memory card loaded in it, remove the memory card.
2. Use the USB cradle to establish a USB connection between the EXILIM and your computer, and then put the file of the image you want to use as your power down image into the root directory of the camera's Flash Memory. The root directory is the directory directly below the drive name.
* The file name extension will not be displayed if your computer is configured to hide file name extensions. Example: CIMG0001
Windows
Macintosh
3. Rename the ending image file to "ENDING.JPG" if it is a snapshot file, or "ENDING.AVI" if it is a movie file.
* Do not input the file name extension (JPG or AVI) if your computer is configured to hide file name extensions. Example: ENDING
Windows
Macintosh
4. Your camera is now configured to display a power down image. Your power down image will appear any time you press the power button to turn off the camera. The power down image appears regardless of whether or not your camera has a memory card loaded in it.
To disable power down image display
Use the USB cradle to establish a USB connection between the EXILIM and your computer, and then delete the power down image file (ENDING.JPG or ENDING.AVI) from the root directory of the camera's Flash Memory.
