Notice of Personnel Changes and Restructuring

TOKYO, April 13, 2022 — Casio Computer Co., Ltd. announced the following personnel changes and organizational restructuring on March 25, 2022.

Casio Computer Co., Ltd. has appointed executive officers and strengthened its business implementation structure in a strategic move designed to maximize corporate value over the medium to long term. For the new organizational structure, Casio carried out the organizational restructuring detailed below as of April 1 in order to drive more growth in its core businesses and strengthen and streamline the functional dimensions of its management matrix.

Main Points of the Organizational Restructuring

  • In order to strengthen the timepiece business, the section-level organization in charge of business planning directly under the Timepiece Business Unit has been upgraded to a department-level organization.
  • In order to fully deploy applications, such as the online learning platform, in the education business, the departments under the Educational Business Unit have been restructured from product-based to function-based organizations.
  • In order to implement efficient development, the organizations under the Engineering Headquarters have been restructured and timepiece planning and development have been integrated.
  • In order to strengthen production strategy and collaboration with relevant departments on production reforms, the organizations under the Production Headquarters have been restructured.
  • In order to optimize the structure of the Global Marketing Headquarters, the regional sales organizations in Japan and some of the Headquarters organizations have been restructured. In order to strengthen the marketing function, the Advertising Department, which was one of the staff function departments, has been incorporated into the Global Marketing Headquarters.
  • In order to promote the company-wide digital transformation strategy efficiently and flexibly, the organizations under the Digital Division have been restructured.

Structure after the Organizational Restructuring

Timepiece Business Unit

  • The Business Planning Section has been upgraded to the Business Planning Departmen

Educational Business Unit

  • The product-based Language Education Products Marketing Department and Educational Computer Marketing Department have been restructured into the function-based Marketing Strategy Department and the Products Strategy Department.

Engineering Headquarters

  • The timepiece planning and development function has been separated from the Development Promotion Unit, and a new Timepiece Planning and Development Unit has been established. The Planning Department has been established under the new unit as a timepiece planning department. In addition, the Development Department under the Development Promotion Unit has been transferred to the Timepiece Planning and Development Unit.
  • Producers have been assigned to oversee products other than timepieces directly under the Development Promotion Unit, and the Planning Department has been eliminated.
  • The Administration Department under the Development Promotion Unit has been reassigned to the direct supervision of the Engineering Headquarters and renamed the Planning and Administration Department.
  • The Hardware Quality Assurance Department under the Quality Assurance Unit has been split into the Hardware Quality Assurance Department-1 and the Hardware Quality Assurance Department-2.
  • The Quality Planning Department under the Quality Assurance Unit has been eliminated and restructured into a section-level organization.

Production Headquarters

  • The new Production Strategy Department has been established under the Production Headquarters, and the functions of the project implementation system responsible for reform and the production strategy functions of the Production Planning Department have been transferred to the new department. In conjunction with this, the project implementation system will be dissolved.
  • The cost strategy function of the Production Planning Department has been transferred to the Purchasing Department.
  • In conjunction with the functional transfer, the Production Planning Department has been renamed the Production Control Department.

Global Marketing Headquarters

  • The sales departments for North Japan, Kanto, Chubu, West Japan, and Kyushu under the Domestic Sales Division have been restructured into three departments: the North Japan Sales Department, the East Japan Sales Department, and the West Japan Sales Department.
  • The new Solution Sales and Planning Department has been established under the Domestic Sales Division, and some of the functions of the Educational & Solution Sales and Planning Department, the System Products Sales Department, and the Sales Management Business Products Sales Department have been transferred to the new department. In conjunction with this, the Educational & Solution Sales and Planning Department has been renamed the Educational Sales and Planning Department, and the System Products Sales Department has been renamed the PA System Products Sales Department.
  • The Sales Administration Section under the Domestic Sales Division has been upgraded to the Domestic Sales Administration Department.
  • The Advertising Department, which was one of the staff function departments, has been incorporated into the Global Marketing and Planning Division.

Digital Division

  • The DX Strategy Department, the Information Technology & Engineering Department, and the Digital Co-creation Department have been restructured into the D2C Strategy Department, the Enterprise System Department, and the Integration Platform Department.
